Tuition Begins at Assunta Secondary

We’re thrilled that volunteers have been found to tutor for our secondary school students. The team were recruited through the Assunta Alumni network, thanks to Teresa Chan (a senior member of the alumni) and Zuli Ghaus, they are: Teresa Chan (English), Indrajey (English/Maths), Santhi Latha Nabena Badalghe (support), Karisma (Maths/Science) and Shimal (Maths/Science). The first three are ex-Assuntarians, Karisma and Shimal are daughters of an ex-Assuntarian.

We have 32 students who are part of our Assunta Secondary group. They come from different year groups ranging between Forms 1-4. With the few volunteers that we have, support is currently focussed on Form 3, who will be sitting for the government examinations calles PT3 in October. This group of 5 girls started classes on Saturday 18 June and will meet every Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm.

Once the PT3 exams end in October, the Trust’s tutors will commence classes for Forms 1 and 2.

A very warm welcome to all of our new tutors, who are pictured below along with the new class!

Thank You...

“Firstly, I like thank the HVT programme. They have helped my family by giving me uniforms, school shoes, meals on a daily basis during recess and revision books to study. The tuition has helped me improve my writing skills and I am better at my school work. I would also like to thank the teachers for teaching me how to be successful in school.”
